Skagit River Salmon Festival Coloring Contest
September 12 - 21, 2020
Edgewater Park in Mount Vernon, Washington
While the Skagit River Salmon Festival couldn’t take place on Sept. 12 as we intended, we wanted to keep the spirit of the festival alive through this collaborative art contest celebrating the mighty salmon!
Print the coloring page at home, and submit your entry to Skagit Publishing, (1215 Anderson Rd, Mount Vernon, WA 98274) via mail to be received by Sept. 21.
Winning entries will be printed in the Skagit Valley Herald on Sept. 26.
The Skagit Valley Herald Coloring Contest “Arrival With a Cost” page art was created by Skagit River Salmon Festival Current Resident Artist, Ramon Shiloh.
Must be 14 or younger to enter.
Skagit River Salmon Festival COVID-19 Update
Based on the recommendations of the Skagit County Health Department and with careful consideration, the Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Skagit River Salmon Festival.
Since 2012, the Festival has been a chance for our community to come together and celebrate our amazing Skagit River and its vast resources while inspiring community conservation. The show will go on when the Festival returns to the Skagit Valley in September 2021!
The Festival’s growing success is a result of the relationships fostered with our community partners, including federal, state, and local agencies, nonprofit organizations, tribal communities and private businesses. The Festival provides a unique opportunity to engage the greater community in the stewardship role everyone plays in safeguarding various facets of the Skagit River watershed.
Just because our Festival will not happen this September, does not mean the valuable work of each of our partners ceases to have incredible impacts in our community. We hope to find ways to recognize them and show our support for them over the next year. Please check our social media platforms in the coming months for further information.
The Skagit River is the thread that binds our community together. We appreciate the longstanding support of all those who have made the Skagit River Salmon Festival what it has become and are committed to the Festival as we move forward.
Just like the mighty salmon, the Skagit River Salmon Festival will return in September 2021!
